´Österåker GC - Home of PGA Tour winner Richard Johnson
Österåkers ha 2 excellert 18-hole courses, Västerled and Österled. The names comes from the old viking era and the sailing path that the Vikings used when they travelled to uppsala. Both coutses are designed by Sven Tumba with help from Jan Sederholm.
Västerled is the Championship course and has parkland/heathland character. it has narrow fairways, tight ruffs, long water pounds and very difficult green areas, particularly on the front nine. in other words, a course which challenges both the pros and the amateurs. The course signature is the par-3s, some of them of course with water.
In august 2001 Österåker and Västeåker hosted European Ladies Tours Compaq Open.
In july 2010 Österåkers Golf Club will host European Amateur Championship at Västerled
